Specify the language settings that you want, and then click Next. The Advanced Boot Options menu will appear, select Repair your Computer and press Enter.Restart PC, press 3-4 times when the Dell logo appears.I spent a lot of money for your top of the line model, and if this issue cannot be resolved, it will be the last time I ever order a computer from Dell. I think my best choice might be simply replacing the hard drive, if you can provide one with the same "image" as the original factory shipment. Let me know if there are any other support options available. My concern now is that taking the time to uninstall Internet Explorer 9 on my own will not fix the real problem, based on what the phone support rep indicated.
#Java update internet explorer 9 software
I have owned other Dell computers but never been pressured into purchasing software coverage. I am not a fan of dealing with 1-800 INDIA anyhow, but really do not appreciate what seems to be a new policy. I do have warranty coverage for customer care and technical support, but was advised that software troubleshooting is NOT covered. The display resembles what Java shows when I attempt to verify installation using Internet Explorer. I run the program and it shows initializing system status but never displays actual status. I noticed that System Mechanic is not working properly either now.
He suggested rolling back Internet Explorer, but he also advised having "Java Run Time" professionally installed. I phoned Dell support and spoke with rep who made remote connection to my computer. I am really stumped this time, as Java does work with Firefox, and there are no issues reported in the Action Center. I have run into problems with Java updates in the past, which were reported in the Action Center, and until last night was able to resolve the issues on my own.
My hope is that all I need to do is adjust some setting(s) for Internet Explorer, but could not identify a solution after reviewing Java Help Center options. I start pulling up my Favorites using the Firefox browser, and suddenly no more problems viewing content and navigating. Guess what? I go to the Java home page, run the test applet, and it's all good. My only salvation for now is that I have an older version of Firefox installed. I cannot use IE right now for my Facebook page, or to check my Yahoo! e-mail, or even request technical support. I viewed some favorites and quickly realized many pages include Java content. The installs completed, but no luck with the test applet.

I completed the 32 bit online install, and the 64-bit offline download again. I even tried turning off my McAfee firewall. I then manually installed the 64-bit version. However, when I ran the test applet, nothing happened.

I went to the official Java home page, clicked on the download button, selected run, and completed install successfully. I am running Internet Explorer 9 and have all required and recommended Windows updates installed.
